• “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.”

    Henry Ford

  • Since inception David Lewis Browne has been about collaboration and teamwork. Our current team reflects the small beginnings with two members who were part of the original founders workshop and studio. We have since grown the team into a close knit family with each individual bringing a unique perspective to our work place.

We all have one thing in common: We love cutting corners perfectly!

  • Gillian Friend

Owner and sophisticated business mind, with an acute eye for detail, none of which stands in the way of a good laugh.

  • Bie Venter

Operations and installations (also referred to as an “art mechanic”).  She knows just about everyone and everything about the art industry for the last 20 years.  A brain full of knowledge.

  • Sifiso Manangela

well trained in all parts of the framing world, he does everything in style, precision, with confidence.  We rely on him a lot.

  • Kea Gopane

Studio administrator, assembly assistant.  The methodical gentle soul who is going places by always going the extra mile.  Stylishly.

  • Edith Khumalo

Quality control, gilding and assembly.  After 35 years one cannot help but be good at it.  A solution is always possible.  A mother figure to the rest of us.

  • Britt Lawton

The latest addition to the team trained to keep the workshop and production studio on the same page; as well as assist with consultations and operations.

  • Eva Maziba

Mounts and attachment assistant. Never doubt her measurements - they’re always right - as she quietly gets on with it.

  • Nicholas Butje

Frame restoration, paint and stain expert, and everything else in the workshop.  The 30 years of dedication to this business gives him the confidence to sing out loud.

  • Sam Phiri

Carpenter of all custom frames.  He gets it, he’s practical, he doesn't say much but when he does, it’s something profound.

  • Jono Butao

Carpenter and assistant to the workshop team while learning to weld.  Every lunchtime he pushes weights which gives him the strongest arms on the premises.

  • Joel Khanari

The friendly face that meets you at your car and makes sure we and our clients stay safe.  And knows everything that happens on our street.

  • Redeem

She keeps this place organised, knows where everything is, helps a bit here, a bit there, and never complains.  Conscientious and very willing to help.

  • Joe Mavende

The face says it all…. But he also keeps our premises clean, talks (a lot) to everyone, and has a hotline to the man upstairs.

  • Rodney Chagaga

gilding extraordinaire, he literally turns frames into works of art and is as gentle as a newborn lamb.
